Meet Trish:
Patricia ("Trish") Villano is a sole practitioner Certified Public Accountant (CPA) located in Closter, New Jersey. Her firm offers tax and accounting services for individuals, partnerships, corporations and small businesses. Patricia is also an Accredited Estate Planner (AEP®) who specializes in advising clients on all aspects of Estate Planning and Estate/Trust Taxation issues. Prior to establishing her own practice 25 years ago, Trish served as an accountant in both public and private sectors, working for various firms including Deloitte and Touche LLP, as well as in the capacity of controller for private corporations.
Trish has served as President of the Bergen Chapter of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA) and also served in various capacities on the Board of Directors and chaired many committees within the organization. She is a member of the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants), NJSCPA (New Jersey State Society of Certified Public Accountants), NSA (National Society of Accountants), the Estate Planning Council of Bergen County and the GNJEPC (Greater New Jersey Estate Planning Council).
Often a featured presenter, Trish delivers keynote speeches and continuing education courses/seminars on issues related to Taxation, Accounting, Estate Planning/Trusts. She also contributes articles on these topics to professional magazines, journals and websites that cater to accounting, legal and financial professionals. Over the years, Trish has been frequently quoted in various periodicals and websites regarding tax and financial-related issues. She has been a guest on The Sunday Financial News Hour radio show and has served as a panelist on the cable television program, Tax Talk.
Trish received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics and Statistics from Cook College/Rutgers University (New Brunswick, NJ) and a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Fairleigh Dickinson University (Teaneck, NJ). She is a member of the Delta Mu Delta National Honor Society in Business Administration and has completed extensive graduate coursework at The American College (Bryn Mawr, PA). Patricia holds an AEP® (Accredited Estate Planner) designation as an estate planning and estate taxation specialist from the NAEPC. In addition to maintaining her own CPA practice, Trish is currently an "Instructional Specialist" of Taxation and Accounting, teaching at the Feliciano School of Business at Montclair State University (Montclair, NJ). Prior, she was an adjunct professor in accounting, finance and statistics in undergraduate and graduate programs at Fairleigh Dickinson University (Metropolitan Campus Hackensack, NJ), William Paterson University (Wayne, NJ), Dominican College (Blauvelt, NY) and St. Thomas Aquinas College (Sparkill, NY). Trish loves to read and is an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Indy Car Racing.
